Neeraj Gupta

May his soul rest in peace

 

On Sunday, the 7^th of July we went to see Neeraj. There was no sign of any recognition,  no response to hello or namastay, as if nothing existed for him. He was in a wheel chair. I tried to talk to him again and again but there was no response. After some time I just said, “ Neeraj, it is Om Bhayya’s 75^th birthday on the 14^th of July; I want to celebrate, will you come to my house?” He gave a very sweet smile and nodded. That touched my heart. After a little while, I again asked,” is lunch OK, just your family with your parents, Nidhi’s and her parents and us?” He again smiled and nodded. His smile was so sweet, I was overwhelmed and so were others. This is his last memory which will always remain with me. Next day he was admitted in ICU. He breathed his last on the 27^th. It was all God’s wish.   ..........................................Oh God

Everytime I listen to the song, I think of you Neeraj....

humko to rahen thi chalaati woh khud apni raah banaata...
The first time I met you was in summer 2002 IHC we were at the buffet and you started the dinner with a dessert, I was really amused by what you did but then over the years I realised that is how you always have been, living life the way you wanted to enjoying the simple things of life

humko kal ki phikar sataati who bas aajka jashan manaata ..
everytime I talked to you about jobs, money, career you were always cool about where you were in life not worried about what tomorrow had in store for you .."arre main to bahut khush hun.." you said the last time we talked

..kahaan se aaya tha woh chuh ke hamare dil ko..
when you visited us here in US all you wanted to do was get together and spend time with the family didn't care much about visiting places, the night we went out in Vegas and then the late night drive to LA you stayed awake to give me company when everyone else in the car was asleep..

..hum sahme se rahte kuain mein, woh nadiya ke gote lagaata, ulti dhaara mein cheer ke terta tha woh..
last year in Sept when I accompanied you to Apollo for your Radiatio even in your pain you ensured that I would eat at Haldiram's ensured that I ordered all the stuff you and I both loved to eat and you just sat there enjoying every bite I ate..

.yaar hamaara tha woh, pyaar hamaar tha woh..
Neeraj you have been the perfect son / brother / son-in-law / friend and ofcourse a perfect husband, don't know how many times you made me say .."saala UKP phir biwi si sunni parege"..

Now that you are in Heaven please do let the Gods up there know this is not fair..."IT HURTS".. RIP buddy... thanks for the wonderful memories and the lessons of life..

He was the best father of the world. I loved him so much. He passed away on the day of my school's award ceremony for scoring well in exams. I recieved my prize with so grief.
I just want to meet him for a second and say goodbye...

Well I have always known Neeraj as an extremely loving Husband, fun person who use to get along with everyone..
He has definitely touched my life by choosing me to be his love cupid or messenger between him and Anupama :)
Have some lovely memories of him calling me and asking for ideas to surprise his wife…What a fun it was to sneak and plan!! 

Occasion..?? just like that.. He would never wait for an occasion to express his love for Anupama..

As far as I knew him …he believed in making that extra effort to re live the relation which sometimes we tend to forget in our busy life …he believed in adding a spark!!
Not only me but every girl in the office  use to love this about Neeraj… and  pray to have a partner, a friend like him..

In the end all I can say is..Neeraj I will always remember you with a smile on my face
